Hello,
Check that your exchange has the Domain Controller as primary dns. The DC must have itself as primary dns server (and no secondary dns server in your case) -- Cordialement, Mathieu CHATEAU English blog: http://lordoftheping.blogspot.com French blog: http://www.lotp.fr "NuBee" <> wrote in message news:B0F67DBB-7647-4ACB-B240-... >I am running win2k3 server SP2 (and logged on to this machine) and am >trying > to set-up Exchange 2003 server on it. Thank you that helped!!! I appreciate the advice! I do not understand why
this change worked. Can you explain, so I can expand my knowledge base. Now, when I run /forestprep with Exchange 2k3, I get this message. Either I do not have sufficient privileges/permissions or AD is too busy. I logged on at the win2k3 server (not FSMO) with the admin account of the win2k3 FSMO server. On the win2k3 FSMO server, I checked the "Member Of" tab and it says administrator is a member of Enterprise and Schema admins. Here is a dump from the Exchange Server Setup Progress log: ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// [22:48:07] ************** Beginning Setup run ************** [22:48:07] Starting Exchange 6944 setup on Windows 5.2.3790.Service Pack 2 at 22:48:07 10/30/2007 [22:48:07] Entering CFileManager::ScInit [22:48:07] Entering CFileManager::ScAutoDetectDirectoryLocations [22:48:07] CService::ScQueryServiceConfig (f:\titanium\admin\src\libs\exsetup\service.cxx:53 9) Error code 0XC0070424 (1060): The specified service does not exist as an installed service. I apologize. I left this with a new post. I'm seting this up on a member
server (not AD server/FSMO). I think I understand the reason is for security. I ran dcdiag and netdiag after following ya'll's advice. Both checked out alright. Thank you, again. -- NuBee "Mathieu CHATEAU" wrote: > Hello, > > looks like it can't reach your DC or the DC is not really available. > Does your exchange still have the DC as primary dns server ? > On the DC, post back result from: > dcdiag > netdiag > > > -- > Cordialement, > Mathieu CHATEAU > English blog: http://lordoftheping.blogspot.com > French blog: http://www.lotp.fr > > > "NuBee" <> wrote in message > news:93F5D027-1BCA-4B13-8AF2-... > > Thank you that helped!!!
