trying to update but nothing happens

I have Windows 98 and have never had problems with windows update before.
This time when I click on the Install Now button absolutely nothing happens.
It doesn't freeze or give an error message but doesn't update either. I am
not getting the usual hand symbol for the button, only the usual mouse one.
Is there an error on the website page?
