First, this is a peer support group, assistance comes from other users like
yourself. While the occasional Microsoft personnel show up here, they do so
on their own time and in no official capacity. Threats of moving to another
product or boycotting will likely garner you nothing more than responses of
"go ahead".
Second, why would you wait a whole year to address it? Problems not
addressed do not go away, they just get more complicated. Here are two
possible paths to problem resolution for you:
1) Free Windows Update support from a professional, click on "contacts" to
begin:

2) Free peer support for Windows Updates, a group similar to this that
specializes in these issues:
