How to turn off autoplay w/USB external drive

I have an external DVD drive and would like to turn off autoplay. How do I
do that?

Pressing the shift key for a few seconds after you insert the DVD in the
drive and close the door stops autoplay for an internal DVD drive . May work
for an external one, but as I don't have one, I don't know. Try it.

Also you can click Start. Click Control panel. Click Hardware and Sound.
Click Autoplay. Perhaps that will work.

Go to Computer>Right click the DVD drive>Properties> stop it in there.
