I installed SP2 recently on my WINXP Pro PL. I've been using Sygate
Personal Firewall (of course not recognized by SP2 Security Center),
so I decided to turn off SP2 firewall, also I have unchecked firewall
notification in SP2 and choose not to monitor the firewall, yet after
every system restart I get the notification about the firewall beeing
turned off and firewall notification is checked back on as well as
firewall monitoring is back on. Can anyone help??

You can also stop the security center notifications by turning off the
security center.

In the run box type services.msc, find the "Security Center" service and
disable it.

I did this and have no problems. Anti-virus and Firewall still work fine
without it.

Good luck,
SI

Finally a working solution. Thanks.
I modified registry as suggested before, but still was getting the
firewall notification.
