OK you open a folder and you move your mouse pointer over a file and
the selection turns blue. You have not click on it yet your just
hovering your mouse over it and its blue.

The feature is nice until you want to cut and paste a bunch of folders
or files. You cut them from one directory and them open the next
window where your going to past them and the folder your mouse is over
turns light blue as if you clicked it. I hate this

How can I TURN OFF the light blue that shows up when you hover your
mouse over a file or folder

Thanks

Mouse functions as you maybe aware are located in "Control Panel" > Mouse.
I have not heard of the action you describe but one of the setting may be
the cause > check them out. (I can think of any setting that create you
situation)

It is the mouse icon in control panel and you need to change the windows
scheme to one you like better.

In control panel it best to chose classic view as you then see icons and
list just lists.

I looked at all the mouse options. Nothing there about the
background. Changing the Theme to Windows classic did fix it but then
it looks like normal XP. I like the Aero Design just not the blue
highlight when you hover your mouse of something. It does it on
desktop icons, that is not so bad but I hate it in a folder when you
hover over a file or folder but dont click. Awful and annoying

Try changing the scheme in mouse setting in control panel.
