Turn-off local echo in Telnet

I tried to turn-off the local echo setting of Telnet by using "unset
localecho" command. And the "display" also showing the local echo is already
off. But when I connect to a Telnet server, the local echo still keep
jumpping out. How to make that off?

I'am too
This bug in telnet windows XP and 2003 only
In w2k telnet localecho turn on/off working fine
What about thinks
