turn off prompts for updates

Hello

I keep getting prompts from Apple to download & install their latest
updates, which I dont want.

Where do the prompts come from & how do I turn them off please ?

And the name of the Apple program is?

Alias

Check the settings/preferences/options of the program that is trying to
update.

When you install some Apple software, a Task to check for updates is put in
Scheduled Tasks. Go to Control Panel and remove it. If the software is
QuickTime, also go to the Quicktime applet in Control Panel and uncheck the
option to automatically look for updates. If the software is iTunes, check
in iTunes preferences for the same thing.
