turning the monitor off

ok i have a question.. i cant figure out how to turn the monitor on my laptop
off without turing the entire cp off or putting into sleep mode.. can someone
help me

Open Power Options (Control Panel) > left pane > click 'Choose when to turn
off the display' link > you will see two options for turning off your
display: On Battery and Plugged in

Click in the respective list box for each, my laptop's display is set to
Turn off every 5 minutes on Batter Power and 20 minutes when Plugged in.
