Two contact lists?

I have been using Windows Live Mail with my new laptop running Vista.
Apparently WLM has been running without being signed in. When I click on
contacts, it brings up a window headed "Windows Live Contacts" with 150 email
contacts that I think got automatically brought over from the Outlook Express
on my old computer when I transferred all my files and data.

Yesterday I started playing around with using the calendar. Somewhere in the
course of doing that I apparently signed in to Windows Live Mail. My sign-in
is the same as my email address. I created 3 different calendars.

Today when I clicked on contacts, it brought up only 7 contacts. The window
was still headed "Windows Live Contacts" but now it also said "(from
)". I quicky figured out that I was now logged in,
and if I cancelled login (Tools/Options/Connections/Stop signing in) my
contact list was the same as before. BUT no calendars!

So the situation is now: If I'm signed in, I can't see my 150 contacts, but
I can see my 3 calendars. If I'm not signed in, I can see my 150 contacts,
but I can't see my 3 calendars.

Does anyone know how I can get these features together?

While not signed in Export your contacts to a CSV file. Then after
signing in, import the CSV file.

If you had any groups/categories, you'll need to recreate them since the
CSV file does not carry that information.
