Sadly, Jonathan is correct, we currently have no way of merging two contacts
into one.
It poses an interesting question though, what would you want it to look
like? I mean, if we combined Bob1 and Bob2 into a single icon in the
contact list and both the Bobs were online, I suppose that would be easy -
show Bob as online. But what if Bob1 is online and Bob2 isn't - what should
we show? Online (and hide the fact that Bob2 is offline)? That might be
reasonable. But what if Bob1 is away and Bob2 is busy, what would we show
then?
And which Bob would you expect to be IM'ing when you double clicked on Bob?
Bob1? Bob2? Both?
What do you guys think? If we added this feature, how would you like it to
work?
