I have two folders named 'Desktop' in my user profile folder. When the
computer boots, sometimes it picks up desktop items from one folder and
sometimes from another. I only have one user account enabled. I tried to
delete one folder but when i refreshed the desktop, it said that it could not
find the folder named 'desktop' even though i could see the folder in the
profile folder. is there any solution?

This can happen if you moved the location of the Desktop folder by
right-clicking on it and choosing the Location tab and then choosing a new
location. Have you ever done that?

Is one perhaps actually a shortcut?
