I am on a satelite system with Xplorenet. I also have a dial up connection
with another server in case the satelite is acting up. I use windows desktop
mail with my dialup server, but would also like to have a different one with
the satelite server. Is it possible to have both? If not, what about having
one with windows mail, and the other one with Outlook Express?

Not completely certain what you are asking for?

If you have several methods of connecting to the net available and you wish
to use the one you decide to connect via, to retrieve your email, then go to
the Tools Menu in WM or OE or WLM>Accounts>connection tab>and remove the
check mark from 'always connect using', the mail program will then use any
available connection.

You might in certain circumstances, need to set Internet Explorer to never
dial a connection YMMV?
Tools>internet options>connections tab.

HTH?

You can have as many mail client programs as you want.
I run both Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail simultaneously on my
computer. Some mail clients will only run on specific Windows versions.
Outlook Express won't run on Vista (or Windows 7) but will run on
Windows XP. Windows Mail only runs on Vista. Windows Live Mail
runs on all three versions of Windows.
