typing funny languages!!

I accidentally hit a couple keys all together that may have included ctrl or
shift or something like that with a bunch of others and it changed the
language i was typing in. i can't get it back to english, right now the
letters show up as funny asian-looking symbols. can somebody tell me how to
fix it?
