You really haven't thought through your little rant have you?
If you nightmare of Microsoft going out of business came true - what do you
think would happen to the businesses on this planet and as a direct result
country and world economy?
Well if you immediate remove Microsoft so that the 95% of PCs and millions
upon millions of servers world wide are no longer supportable or patchable
etc etc then you force every major corporation on the planet to rip out a
truly massive amount of line of business and critical infrastructure. This
would have simply unfathomable impact to those business.
This is not like some geek home user switching from Windows to some Linux
distro - this would be wholesale destruction of the IT infrastructure for
pretty much every major company on the planet. Not to mention government
systems too.
So maybe you should climb off your soapbox and really think a little more
about this.
You should also note that "adding more Macs to the military's computer mix "
does not represent a wholesale switch away from Windows but is just adding
more other systems to the military mix. The year on year procurement of
additional PC and server devices is huge so adding in a few more Macs is no
big deal.
