Hi,

I have a prograamme that will only work properly if UAC is off. I
would prefer to run with UAC on.

My question is. Will it do any harm, or will I be likely to have
problems, if I run with UAC on. Use my programme with UAC off, then
switch back to UAC on.

Thanks

Hi Species,

Does it work with UAC on when you right click the program and click
"Run as administrator"?

If it does, then right click program, click Properties, click
Compatiblity tab, and click "Run as administrator" and click Ok. This
way it will alway run as administrator when you click on it.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

What kind of program is it? It is probably a bad idea to turn off UAC unless
you really need the program because disabling UAC also disables Internet
Explorer's Protected Mode, along with other effects that can adversly affect
the security of your computer. But if you really need it, you really need
it. I suggest contacting the creator and/or finding and alternative program.

The biggest danger to your computer is WINDOWS itself as we've just
seen demonstrated again by the Bozos in Redmond that can't even repair
one of their own servers and prefer to mark all copies of Vista as
counterfeit.

I would agree with Robert Firth. If you can get a updated version o
another brand that is compatible with Vista, that would be better fo
you. I would leav UAC on, but if you have no alternatives, then I woul
just turn UAC off when using that program only

So what do you suggest as an alternative?

You can get more with a kind word and a 2x4 than just a kind word.
