when I connect an external device to my machine (such as mp3 player or
camera) the machine doesn't read it, I have to restart the machine for
Vista to read it.. needless to say, this is quite annoying and
disruptive.. and it started happening just recently, didn't have
problem before (geeee.. could it be one of those wonderful Vista
Updates, like it turned out to be for the last problem I asked about
here....

thank you..

What did you learn when you Googled the problem?

You did Google it before you posted, right?

What firewall, anti-virus application or security suite is installed? There
are some that cause problems which do not appear immediately.
