I see that Dream Scenes and a dream player are available from win.customize
or Stardock. Has anyone had a bad experience with their installation? I
haven't tried yet because I'm still trying to figure out the benefits of a
moving desktop?

It works fine here (as supplied via Windows Update), but after turning it on
for a little while, it became a bit of an annoyance to me.
Maybe if you like to meditate while sitting in front of your PC...

I agree with PvdG42... it worked fine here, but then... it was, like, "Why?"
It sucks up resources. (Well, honestly, I don't know exactly how much
resource it sucks up... but a desktop background showing a movie has to suck
up -some- resources, does't it?) And while it -is- cool, geez, I'm using
every single one of my apps full screen, so I'm only going to see the
Dreamscene animation when I'm on the desktop. And then it's going to
distract me just long enough to break the thread of my thoughts, as weak as
they already are... LOL!

So... been there... done that. No more.

Exactly, what is the point of Dreamscene, i use my PC's to work on not look
at.
how else were microsoft gonna sell this heap of **** without all these
cosmetic add-ons.

Vista is a perfect example of Style over Substance, more time seems to be
spent on bigging up the look of the product rather than what it does.

I couldnt care a toss what it looks like, i dont sit admiring my desktop or
the transparency of windows borders, if the time and energy that was spent
on the look of the product was put into the functionality, then probably 90%
plus of the posts on here wouldnt be necessary.

Dreamscene is a total & utter waste of PC resources, what is the point of
it ?

I had no issues, once I turned Dream Scene ON in Windows features.
I d/l from Windows Update.
When you are working with apps open - you can't see it.
I keep the waterfall on my desktop, it makes an excellent ''night light".
Another "bell and whistle" to add to your electronically supplemented life
;-)
