Unable to access system restore on vista

Hi

I have been having problems with vista the last few days. It will not
take me to the windows start up screen. I have tried using my back up
disk but as I can not get into start up it fails to do anything.

I have tried to launch system restore and to go into safe mode I can
access that screen but whatever option I chose it fails to do anything
at all. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this please post asap

Run system restore to a time before you could not access system restore.

thanks bob .i have now discovered that i should have gone into system
set up and changed from boot from hard drive to boot from disk
..:geek::geek: dell wanted to charge me £99 to tell me that .it turns out
i had a software problem and launch start up repair wasnt working
