Unable to add computer to domain

Hi Guys, its me again
I have a computer which cannot be added to the domain. This is the problem.
Apparently, someone deleted the OU which contained the servers and never
restored it. So now I'm trying to apply group policy to one of the computer
and getting some errors. So we disjoin the computer from the domain (the
computer still had domain.lab as its domain), this was done successfully.
Now when we try to rejoin the computer to the domain I get the following
error "The computer failed to join the domain "domain.lab" ..... failed to
update the dnshostname and/or ServicePrincipalName in its Active Directory
Computer Account. ..." So i tried to stage the computer, by going to ADUC
and create computer with the same name and get "Windows cannot create the
new computer object because the pre-windows 2000 computer name "mtl-prnsvr"
is already in use. Select another name and then try again." Problem is, I'm
unable to find this computer anywhere in AD. Any suggestions/

Is there a duplicate name such as a workgroup, group, etc? They will all
conflict.

Also, if the OU was deleted with those objects in it, you can restore it
using an Authoratitive Restore. One other possibility to pull deleted
objects back without the preceding lengthy procedure mentioned, is to try
'adrestore' from Microsoft.

Ace, no there is no duplicate. the name mtl-prnsvr was only used by that
computer. Also I can't restore because this happened before I even started
this job which is just about 3 months ago. If Im not wrong that is beyond my
current Tombstone. Unless you are going to teach me a new trick.

Pledge please find the netsetup.log below I've truncated it to show the date
when it was disjoin and attempted to rejoin the domain.

Yep, it's the only machine facing this issue.
I have no problem joining any other machine, I joined my Win7 machine up to
yesterday.

I think I will change the name and settle it at that.

To locate the computer accounts that have the duplicate SPNs, use the
following steps :

1. Use the querySpn.vbs script in the following Microsoft TechNet
article. To use the script, copy the code, paste it into Notepad, and then
save the script as querySpn.vbs.

2. Run the script by using the following command:

cscript spnquery.vbs HOST/mycomputer* > c:\check_SPN.txt

3. Open the check_SPN.txt file in Notepad, and then search for the SPN
that is reported in the event log.

4. Note the user accounts and the computer accounts under which the SPN
is located.

5. Use ADSIedit.msc to remove the duplicate SPN and register on correct
object.
