Unable to apply SQL Server 2005 update - error WindowsUpdate_00007

I have tried repeatedly to apply "Security Update for SQL Server 2005 Service
Pack 2 (KB948109)" on my Windows Vista Professional SP1 computer. I have
rebooted and retried. I have found no other reports of problem 7358 with a
Windows Update. Any suggestions?

7358 => Could not execute query. The OLE DB provider '%ls' did not provide
an appropriate interface to access the text, ntext, or image column
'%ls.%ls'
