;HI
I need HELP!!

Whenever I try to do a complete backup in vista i get the following error:

"THE WRITER EXPIERENCED A NON-TRANSIENT ERROR. IF THE BACKUP IS
RE TRIED THE EROR IS LIKLEY TO RE OCCUR".
(0x800423F4)

I dont understand what to do; and do not mean to be simple minded, but isn't
the back-up supposed to occur when you hit the "start" button?
CAN ANYONE HELP?
PS the file backup works, just not the "BACKUP YOUR PC" BUTTON.

THANKS,

EDWARD B. SPERLING

You cannot perform a backup directly to a CD or DVD.
You need to create a new folder on your hard drive and
designate that folder during backup, then burn the folder
containing the backup file to a CD or DVD.

I must have a really messed up Vista Ultimate system because it allows me to
make a complete system backup to DVD.

Success is relative. The greater the success, the more relatives

Sorry Carey,

Like Leo, I can make a backup straight to DVD to.

See the example in this tutorial:
