Unable to boot in safe mode after SP2 update normal mode boots fine

Since the install of SP2 I find that if an attempt to
boot into "Safe Mode", using the start up menu, the PC
just reboots, just prior to what would be the desktop
loading, no error message, but if system starts normally
in "Normal Mode", every thing else seems fine and no
other apparent issues in "Normal Mode". Just curious if
anyone has found a reason for not being able to boot
into "Safe Mode", or has a method to resolve this
behavior....Kris
