My computer froze on me awile ago and after that it will not load in
Normal mode. I have tried to restore to an earlier point with no success
and I have also tried the booting from the last known good configuration
with no luck. I am not all to good with computers myself so I appreciate
any help you can give me.

Is it a blue-screen? What's the error message?

Well, it happened to me when I removed the chipset driver. In the end, I
re-installed my 64-bit Vi$ta Ultimate and applied SP1 right after
installation. Not a bad deal as Vi$ta feels snappier now....

Hi,

So does safe mode work? If not, you probably have a damaged installation or
corrupt file system. The most likely "next step" would be to run error
checking from a command prompt by booting the Vista disk and loading the
recovery options. If it's a corrupt file system, the repair options won't
work and you will probably have to reload. If you haven't made backups of
files that you don't want to lose, I'd suggest bringing the system to a
knowledgable friend of local pc shop.

If so, then it's a matter of deciphering what is loading at boot to prevent
normal mode from completing. You can use the msconfig tool for this.

Hi Boax, and welcome to the vista forums, arty

The next thing I would suggest you try is a repair install

'Repair Install For Vista
(http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88...all-vista.html)

If that is not successful you could try a System File check in Saf
mod

'System Files - SFC Command - Vista Forums
(http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/66...%20Maintenance

Hope this help

Did you do ANYTHING that has been suggested by others or are you
sitting in front of your computer like a dummy hoping it will fix
itself!?

A good test of one's intelligence is looking at their writing style.

Oh, you're another one of those clueless morons that thinks adding
both an exclamation mark and a question mark to the same sentence is
correct. Hint: NEVER you clueless douche bag.
