I'm trying to import a batch of reg settings from a personal drive on
the network. The syntax is correct regedit /s h:\MyRegSetting.reg

Even when I test the reg file with a manual import (Right-click,
merge..) it still fails. Yet runs fine when run from a local drive.

Normally this wouldn't bother me but I need to loop through a few
settings for about 300 users. Any ideas?

Recap:
Merge from the network - fails ERROR: "Cannot import
h:MyRegsetting.reg: Error opening the file. There may be a disk or file
system error."
Merge locally - works fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

are you running it from a shortcut with admin rights?
without the elevation, it won't merge.

Hi,

We are testing this on a pilot group rolling out to our organisation a
couple of months down the track. I have kept the desktop locked down, so
all users run as standard. The batch file is called with any elevation
(ie: not run as admin).

I thought you were able to edit HKCU as a standard user, and cannot
change HKLM keys without elevation?

I'm
