unable to create bootable dvd

I received a vista licensed (business edition) from the university as well as
a burned copy of the installer in dvd form. However my dvd rom could not read
the dvd (some errors) so I burned another copy from a friend.

That copy now I realized wasn't created in bootable form. I am trying to
reburn a new copy that is bootable but somehow can't find a way to do it.

I am using nero burning version 7.9.6 .... in the new compilation option
I've selected the dvd(boot) but it didn't work (the dvd boots up to some dos
command junk and stalls there ).

I'm suspecting it has something to do with the image file (.ima extension)?
In Nero's burning procedure I'm suppose to input the location of the image
file but I can't find any files that ends with a .ima extension in my vista
folder or related to vista in any particular.

May I know what is the image file for vista and where or how to get it?
Thanks in advance for the help

Hello clara.. you will have to convert the IMA file into ISO so you can burn
it into nero..

OR mount the CD and clone it... this is a bit strange if you have never done
this before

Winimage can convert ima to iso
http://www.winimage.com/download.htm
but its not free, you can see if the trial is fully functional to do your
convert though..

The other free way is to use Magic Disk to Mount the IMA file as a virtual
disk,
and then use NERO to CLONE it onto a normal dvd disk

you can get it here free
http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/mi...c-overview.htm

Hope this helps... if you need any additional help, ask me... :-)

Regarding "...so I burned another copy from a friend...." - Product keys are
specific to Vista DVDs. The key for your Univer version woul not work.\

Also "...I received a vista licensed (business edition) from the university
as well as a burned copy of the installer in dvd form...." The use of "as
well" and "installer in DVD form" are confusing (to me anyway) - was the
licensed version already installed on a computer? Or you received a Vista
DVD for you to install Vista?
