Unable to defrag now -

It's been a while since I've been able to defrag my computer. It just won't
do it - at all. I also can't seem to run the scan disk program. It starts,
and then restarts itself, over and over.

Run it from the safe mode.
Restart the computer. After the Power On Self Test (POST), press and hold the F8 key.

In order to successfully run scan disk and Defrag, you have to disable all
anti-virus, anti-advertisement, anti-trojan horse software. You may want to
run Disk Clean up after running scan disk and Defrag. Be sure to enable your
anti-virus, anti-advertisement and anti-trojan horse software before you
resume use of your machine.
