I would like to have help on the following:

I recently had to reinstall Vista because of harddisk errors. This went
fine. But, now after i had put back my files from the made backup, i have
some files which are not wanted but i cannot delete them, these involve some
files having to do with the windows gadgets and with the medialayer as well
as other files which are unknown to me. The message i get is that i donot
have the rights to delete them. (Ofcourse i am logged in as administrator). I
alreaydy tried to log in as the name i used ti use with the hope that that
could solve the problem but no it didnot solve.

The manufacturer and installer of my pc says i will need to attach my pc to
a windows server etcetera, a complicated story, is this really neccesary?

It can in my opinion not be so that i cannot delete those files.

I hope that somebody can help me out with this.

Thanks in advance,

Jerry

I'd run the mfg's harddrive diagnostic before you do anything else.
If your harddrive is defective it should be replaced

You will likely have to take ownership of the files in question since they
came from a different install/account.
Here is an easy way:

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...menu-in-vista/

This, however, is nonsense:
"> The manufacturer and installer of my pc says i will need to attach my pc
to

Thank you, Max,
Very nice, this take ownership 'hack' but: there are about a few hundreds or
thousands of files there..i cannot really go do this action for every single
file..any solution to that?
(Maybe there's an easy way of somehow in 1 step selecting every singel
folder and file?).

With regards,
Jerry
