Hi,
I have approx 25 emails from different senders with 'Statement of fees
2008/09' as the subject. I have tried to delete them, and just get 'an
unknown error has occurred' and then a 'Deleteing messages..' Dialog box
which cannot be closed and just sits there doing nothing. I have tried
opening one, but get the same message... Any Ideas please???

Paul

Hi,

Try running antivirus/spyware programs - in case the one you have
missed anything, grab a couple of free ones and scan again

Hi Peter

Do you think this would show as 25 messages from different senders wit
the same heading ( and possibly contents) ? Sounds like a spam attac
don't you think

Hi Peter

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if malware could have caused th
Quick link problem you mention, but I see from

"The Quick views will break in the current version of WLMai
(12.0.1606) if any folder is deleted (in an Account or under Storag
folders), if a Feed is deleted, or if one un-subscribes from
Newsgroup.

that it is pretty delicate anyway. Just started using WLMail myself

Thank

Peter,
Thanks for your reply.. Unfortunately I don't have that registry Value in
the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail Key. I am
experiencing the problem in my Inbox Folder as well as Quick Views.

Subsequent Spam from the same source has appeared, and that can be deleted
properly, it's just this odd 25 that refuse to budge..

TIA

Paul

The SearchFolderVersion key is in every WLM install.
Deleting it manually or via the script with WLM closed will remove it
Opening WLM will recreate the key and rebuild the data store on the next WLM opening.

Winston,
Of course you are right....I was looking for a subkey of
"SearchFolderVersion" and didn't see the key looking back at me !! Anyway I
closed WLM, went to regedit, deleted the key, closed regedit, and then opened
WLM, and guess what...They were still there..still unable to do anything with
them... in the end I deleted the account, and re-created it, and they have
gone !!

Thanks everyone who contributed...

Paul

Hi Bartman,

Great, you found your own solution and so simple, too. Satisfying isn't
it.
