Just do a clean installation of xp home sp1 and when I try to do
WindowsUpdate, from:-
http://update.microsoft.com/windowsu....aspx?ln=en-us
I just cannot get past the "Checking your computer for the latest Updating
software....'. When I try to close the explorer, its says its not responding
and the error details as
c:\docs........\WER1.tmp.dir00\IEXPLORE.EXE.mdmp
c:\docs........\WER1.tmp.dir00\appcomat.txt
However, if I wait long enough say for than 30 minutes, it will give an
error code:-
[Error number: 0x80072EFF] - no mistake as I just copied from the error line.
At other times, it will give code 0x80072EE2 , but still unable to resolve
the issue from the kb for this code 0x80072EE2.(disable nav and enable ms
firewall-still unable to get update)
When I try to attach the WindowsUpdate.log, it took more than 1 hour and
still unable to complete the attachment, using yahoo.
Any one experience this? Please advice how do I overcome this.
System config:- p4 256 mb ram, nav2005 updated. Apart from nav2005
updated,modem driver, nothing been install yet and not even MS application
like word etc.
