For the past month, when turning off my laptop every night, I'm encouraged to
download a Security Update for Flash Player CKB923789. It is always an
unsuccessful download. I get error code 0x643. I now have a whole list of
these "unsuccessful updates"in my HIstory. Any ideas?

Windows version?

1. Go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see what Flash Player
version you're running. If it's later than v8.0.24.0 (e.g., v9.0.x.x), you
don't need 923789.

2. If you're not running v9.0.116.0, upgrade to this version now via
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/downl...ShockwaveFlash
(NB: Uncheck Google Toolbar option if you don't want a drive-by install!)

3. Now go to Windows Update website, select CUSTOM and scan, then "hide"
923789; install any Critical updates offered.

Thank you both for your replies. I opted for PA bear's simpler solution for
starters and it worked! Your input was greatly appreciated.
