Unable to download and install update files

Windows update asked me to update my update software, which I did
successfully. However, when I then tried to install the 2 recommened updates
it failed. I've tried at least 5 times and the faied status icon doesn't
even tell me how to solve the problem. Can anyone help?

I have had the same problem!!! NIGHTMARE!

The only way I have been able to get the upadtes downloaded and installed is
through copying the KB item numbers and doing a search on the Ms site. Then
click through the processes to download them and install...

WHEN THE SYSTEM WANTS TO RESTART, SAY NO AND GOT TO THE NEXT KB NO. WHEN YOU
FINISHED ALL THE UPDATES...RESTART PC.

Hope this might help? I still cant download the updates in the normal
fashion though.
