The fault may very well be in the registry, as you say. It'll be worth
investigating.
But the possibility also lies with the poor support that HP has for
their products and Vista based computers. Sure. many of their products
do have Vista drivers available, but in almost all cases that I've seen
so far, their Vista drivers provide not even a fraction of the
functionality that the XP counterparts provide. The HP G85 (A4), 1220c
(A3) and 1700c (A3) printers are prime examples of this.
And also in far too many cases, when looking on the HP site for a Vista
driver, they usually say that a Vista driver is not available, or you
need to use a Vista driver for a different printer that *should* be
compatible with the one you want!
