Unable to get the updates.

Each time I try to get the windows update for my Windows XP Home edition, I
get the following screen which says:

Thank You for your interest in Windows Update.

Windows Update is the online extension of Windows that helps you get the
most of your computer.

You must be running a Microsoft Windows operating system in order to use
Windows Update.

Please help me with this problem so that I can once again can scan and get
the windows updates.

If you have Norton Internet Security installed, have a look at this Symantec

Error: "You must be running a Microsoft Windows operating system in order to
use Windows Update"

If you don't have Norton Internet Security installed, go here:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/
Scroll down to locate "When attempting to access the Windows Update Web site
you receive the following message: Thank You -- you must be running a
Microsoft windows operating system in order to use windows update" and click
on that link.

Thank you Patti so much for this info. I was getting pretty desperate here
and needed that tip.
