Unable to have video call

I am running Windows Vista on an HP Pavillion dv6000 with an integrated 1.3MP
WebCam.

I had to upgrade to Messenger 2009, now I can not have a video call, can't
show my webcam, can't have a computer to computer call. Until I had to
upgrade, it worked beautifully, and I've used it in more countries than I can
count. I've tried going into 'Tools' in Messenger to run audio/video setup.
Windows was unable to run audio/video setup.

I have tried disabling my McAfee. Still did not fix the problem. I went to
McAfee's website and tried their fix for SiteAdvisor. When I opened up the
notepad to make the change, windows would not allow me to save the change -
simply said 'can not save.'

Thanks,
CGS

In another posting on this same subject, I found a post by Jonathan Kay that
gave instructions and link for uninstalling 2009 version and installing
version 8.5. I did what he suggested and it worked.

If you search 'video chat' on this forum and click on "Error when trying to
start a video call", you should be able to find it.

Good luck!

I had exactly the same problem. I fixed mine by going to the McAfe
Site Advisor in my web browser and click on "update". When the updat
finished I was amazed to see that my camera worked and I was able t
have a video call and do audio/video set up. Hope this is useful.
