Hi all,
got the same problem.
But can't get any information. I nearly tried all possibilities (completely
changed memory, changed DVD-Drive, tested all possible BIOS-Settings,
deactivated/activated all on-board components etc.).
No success.
XP is running on the same system but separate HD without any problem.
I bought 80 GB SATA Samsung to have Vista completely separated.
@awatters:
I only see one point in your system that makes me think of a general problem.
You also have 975x Chipset. Hopefully it's not the reason.
My System:
Board: MSI 975x Premium (MS-7246)
CPU: Intel 940 D (Presler Core)
RAM: 2x1024 MB Corsair (CM2X1024-5400C4)
HD: SATA Samsung 250 GB & SATA Samsung 80 GB
GPU: NVIDIA 7900 GT (256 MB)
The sad point is that all friends running older systems don't have any
problems.
