You're not the only person who's had trouble with it, believe me.
I think the point was to improve the visibility of the other Live products and to make it
"easy" to update to the latest versions without having to go through the download, install
routine for each application.
I hate to blast people's hard work, but I do believe the installer was released too early as
it's not very robust, had some severe compatibility issues, in some cases downloads the wrong
versions and other problems.
