Unable to install SP2 once downloaded

I am unable to install SP2. it has been downloaded and will begin
installation but almost at the end of the proces it will tell me it failed to
install and needs to uninstall and once this done it tells me my computer is
now unstable. It's crashed x2. I have all the spyware etc. is this happening
to anyone else and can I solve it?
