No. I've been using it on my EPoX mobos with AMD's 754 and AM2 sockets and
Athlon 64 3200+ and Athlon 64 X2 5000+ CPUs since August 2005, when Vista
was still in beta. My current X2 mobo is MF570sli, which includes the
nForce 570 chipset. Works fine - especially since 64-bit drivers have
finally arrived. (Still waiting for 64-bit applications, but 32-bit apps
run just fine.)

HOW were you installing that driver? And did you enable RAID support in the
BIOS?
The classic symptom, which I first saw when trying to install Win2K on my
SCSI hard drive 7 years ago, is a BSOD with Stop Code 0x7B,
Incompatible_Boot_Device. Is that what you are seeing?
The fix then - and now - is to get those drivers onto a floppy diskette and
have it handy when you boot from DVD to start Setup. The process is
slightly different in Vista from what we did in Win2K/XP, and I've not had
to do it often enough in Vista to remember the steps. But in WinXP, it went
like this: Early in the Setup process you should see a prompt to "Press
<F6> to install drivers for a mass storage controller" or similar language.
Press F6 quickly; the prompt disappears in a few seconds and, if you miss
it, you have to start the boot again. Setup will pretend not to notice the
F6 press and will continue to load the hundreds of files. Finally, it will
stop with instructions for how to use the floppy to install the drivers.
The DVD-ROM knows how to copy files to the hard drive. But drivers for many
of the newer drives are not on the DVD, and Setup fails when it finishes
copying and tries to actually BOOT FROM that hard drive unless drivers are
supplied from the floppy before time to reboot from the drive into minimal
Windows to complete the installation.
