Unable to install Windows Update on Windows 2000

When trying to run windows update, it tries to install windows update and
fails with error 0x8024D007

I have tried registering the .dll files listed in many fixes. When trying to
run:

REGSVR32 WUAUENG.DLL

I get error: 'dllregister in wuaueng.dll failed. Return code was 0x80070514'

I did try the others, the next one, REGSVR32 WUAUENG1.DLL
gives error: 'Loadlibrary("wuaueng1.dll")failed - the specified module could
not be found.

I have tried reinstalling SP4, still no help.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Exit Safe Mode (Reboot)

Try the updates n0w

Try getting the updates using Internet Explorer, by going here:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

Some new ActiveX software has to be installed on XP before your computer can
be scanned. Just follow the prompts to do so, but it should then list and
download the same updates, and install them, as those you see in the taskbar
notification. If going to the site is successful, keep going back until
there are no more critical updates to install.
