Unable to install Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (KB948465)

Hi,
My system details:
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
Issue: I am unable to install Service Pack 2 (KB948465) available from
Windows Update. The system tryies and then display message: Unable to Install
serivce pack.

Pls advice.

Go to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/w.../dd262148.aspx and look at
the left side. Things to know about SP2 and FAQs. Review them thoroughly
and see if that answers most or all of your questions. If not, repost here.
You will also note the download site available for the full download which
can be used instead of the Windows update service.

Try installing Standalone Package SP2 and disabling third party anti-virus
programs helps as well.

Try the following
Uninstall any 3rd party antivirus/firewall.
Click Start and type "msconfig" and Enter
Click on Services TabCheck "Hide all Microsoft services", then click
"Deselect all".
Now click on "Startup Tab" and click "Deselct All".
Restart the computer.
Click Start and select Windows Update.
Select Service Pack 2 update and run.
After successful installation, restart, go back to Services Tab/Startup
Tab and enable all (unhide/restart all services)
