Hi,
I am unable to install service Pack2 on one of my PC. I am using Windows XP
Home Edition. It is an Shuttle XPC. Model of the same is SB61.
Worst thing is that after applying Service Pack 2 windows stops booting. It
gets Hangs in booting both in normal and safe mode.
I have tried it after installing fresh windows also i.e. without any Drivers
and Programs. I have Serial ATA HDD in the PC. But i had tried on Parralel
ATA HDD also. Disabling L1&L2 cache and HT won't help. I had upgraded the
bios also but the problem is same.
I think problem is not with the shuttle. It is the compatibility problem
between Microsoft and some Hardware. Because the same problem i am facing on
a Non-Branded PC.
Shuttle XPC has Intel 865 chipset Motherboard with HT and Intel Pentium 4
2.8Ghz HT.
Non Branded PC has Asus Motherboard with 845 Chipset and inter Pentium 4
processor 1.8 Ghz Non-HT.
I have one more PC with Genuine Intel Motherboard 865 Chipset with HT
technology and Pentium 4 2.8Ghz. Service Pack2 installation on this PC is
successful.
Please help me to resolve the issue.....

Thanks....Vineet

Check with the manufacturer for each of your components to verify SP-2
compatibility.

Also see the Service Pack Installation Checklist:
