My machine has Office XP professional and is set to auto update. I recently
update the XP to SP2 and after that, adobe acrobat is not working. I get the
splash screen and nothing happens after that. I have to go to taskmanager to
kill this process. I chatted with Windows support and was advised to install
acrobat in "safe mode". But the funny thing is, the installer process does
not work in safe mode and hence I am not able to install again. I have
tried, remove, repair, re-install adobe a number of times without any success.

Can any one help? We got so much used to reading manuals/docs in adobe and
it is very difficult without it.

Thanks in advance

Thanks Taurarian. I checked the adobe site and as well as their forumns and
found that we have to delete the thousands of tmp files generated by adobe.
These files reside under C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local
Settings\Temp and they resemble acr?????. These files will be visible only
after changing the Folder options to "Show Hidden Files and folders".

After deletion, I reinstalled the latest Adobe 6.0.2 and everything is fine.
