One thing to keep in mind is that Vista's security setting's may prevent you
from copying files to specific directories (folders). The folders you
can -always- copy to are the logged on user's "user folders." If you're
logged on as "Mike," then there's going to be a "Mike" folder in the "Users"
folder on your system drive. (Most likely the C: drive, but not always...)
You may, depending on how your PC's configured at the moment, have a "Mike"
folder on your desktop. If not, then there will be a button named "Mike" on
the Start Orb menu, in the right hand column, right at the top. Click on
that to open the "Mike" folder.
Drill into whichever folder you need to... documents, for example. Then open
another window for the CD drive. You should be able to select the
folders/files in the CD drive window and "drag" them over to the
Mike\Documents folder. Dragging is simply clicking the mouse button on one
of the selected folders/files and -without releasing- the mouse button, move
it over to the other window. You should see, oh, I don't know what they're
called... shadow (?) representations of the folders/files as you drag the
mouse pointer. When the mouse pointer is over the window/folder to which you
want to copy the files, -then- release the mouse button.
Do read the Windows help on copying/moving folders/files... depending on the
"copy from" and "copy to" locations, the drag and drop functionality acts
differently and I'm not going into that right here and now.
