Unable to login to a new user account

I removed a user from my laptop via User Accounts selecting to have all the
users folders/files to be deleted. I then went into Explorer>Users and
deleted the user's folder and subfolders. This seems to have caused a
problem in that if I now create a new user I am unable to log into that
account - I get "The User Profile Service failed the logon. User Profile
cannot be loaded".

I had posted this earlier and was given the following link to a Microsoft
article which gives step by step instructions on how to correct the problem.

I have done everything suggested in this article but to no avail. After
making all the changes per the article, I end up with the following
settings:

User Accounts: Admin (there are no other user accounts)
User Profiles: Laptop\Admin
Registry>......>ProfileList: S1-5-18
S1-5-19
S1-5-20
S1-5-21-3454285694-more
numbers-numbers-1008 >ProfileImagePath C:\Users\Admin

I rebooted the machine and then created a new user (dougc), restarted the
machine and the User Accounts now shows dougc as another user but the User
Profiles nor the Registry>ProfileList show any changes and I cannot log into
this account ("The User Profile Service failed the logon. User Profile
cannot be loaded").

Don't know what else I can do to log into a new user account. Looking at my
desktop computer in Expolrer>Users, there is a folder for each user in User
Accounts as
well as one for Default user which is not in User Accounts. This Default
user folder does
not show on my laptop where the login problem is. Perhaps this has
something to do with the problem?

My first thought would be to run "sfc /scannow" from a command prompt.
Let that look for problems in your system files. See what it reports or
fixes
so that you'll have more information to diagnose with.

I ran sfc /scannow and got Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files
but was not able to fix some of them. Details are included in
Windows\logs\CBS\CBS.log

The log file is 23MB in size with thousands of entries, I have no idea where
the relevant details would be in here.
