After upgrading to WinXP SP2 I am unable to open hyperlinks. Everytime I
select an hyperlink I get a message that says:
"Unable to open hyperlink:
The operating system denied access to the specified file."
I believe something got turned off and I am not sure where to look any more.
Having trouble finding help on this anywhere. Has anyone had this problem?
And if so can you help a guy that is lost?

irisch,

Give this a shot :

" 1. Quit all programs that are running.
2. Click Start, and then click Run.
3. Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll and then click OK.
4. When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded"
message, click OK.

If this does not resolve the problem, repeat steps 2 through 4 for each
of the following files (in step 3, replace Urlmon.dll with each of the
file names below):
• shdocvw.dll
• msjava.dll
• actxprxy.dll
• oleaut32.dll
• mshtml.dll
• browseui.dll
• shell32.dll "

I tried running the regsvr32 on all the dll's but this did not fix the problem.
If I go to IE browser and type in the URL it works, but if I click on the
link it just tells me my OS has denied access. I would think that this is a
secureity issue?
Thanks for your help with my problem.

It may be connected with Internet Zones. Open Internet Options in the
Control Panel and then click the Security tab. Click the Internet icon,
then click the Default Level button. Click Apply, OK.
If that does not resolve the issue suggest you post to an IE newsgroup:
