Unable to open multiple Excel files from network share

I have about seperate Excel worksheets I open at once by selecting all
and hitting enter. However, after upgrading to Vista I can only seem
to open a few at a time. Any reason for that?

IIRC, when you open Office files, a ghost copy (hidden) is made while it is
open. I think it may be the crash backup, or the working file (probably
both), before it is Saved as the main file. Maybe UAC or some other network
restrictions of Vista is stopping more than a certain amount being created.
Is the remote end running Vista, or the local machine?
