Hi Paul1,

Which version of the reader do you have? Most financial institutions will
expect you to have the latest version in order to be able to download and
read their statements. Download the latest directly from Adobe.

Hi, Paul.

Which version of Vista (probably doesn't matter, but it might)? Which
version of Adobe Reader (probably DOES matter)?

What is the exact text of the error message?

Key Bank tech support was "no help"? What did they actually say?

I have the latest version of reader, 8.1.1. the exact error message is "IE
cannot download Controller from accounts.key.com. IE was not able to open
this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailble or cannot be
found. Please try again later." The settings on Reader are correct (per Key
Bank to download the pdf statement). No problems on my XP computers.

I'd suggest this is a problem with the banks' Web site, not your PC. What
happens if you try to right-click the link and do a "Save As" instead of
opening the PDF file?

Check Internet Properties / advanced / "Do not save encrypted pages to
disk."
Make sure this box is NOT checked.

I uncheck this box but it seems to recheck after I leave the Advanced
properties dialogue

I can get it to work by unchecking the box in IE before I download if I also
uncheck it in Reader internet settings just before I open the pdf but it will
not stay unchecked and I seem to have to play around with those settings
before it will open and then that setting is checked again.
