If I post from my Win7 machine with WLM I get the error message below on any
of the newsgroups.
However, if I respond to a post - it goes through.

If I post from this machine XP / OE on the same network, it works fine.

My assumption it's something with Win7 or WLM.

FYI: I reloaded WLM - no help.

Error message below - Thank you.

Could you have a message stuck in the Outbox? WLM may have posted an
article, then failed to clear the Outbox. Later polls by WLM would attempt
to post the article again, and E-S would refuse to accept it, flagging it as
a "duplicate post".

I don't think so. They stay in the Outbox until I delete them.

I am responding on the "problem" machine and I'm sure this will go through.

See - it went through, but new posts don’t.

BTW: Mocassin Joe is my ID on the other machine.

The first thing to check is if your username and password are correct for
the E-S account in WLM. If re-entering them doesn't help, then try deleting
the account, close WLM, then reopen it and re-create the account -
carefully checking that everything is entered properly. MS support only
says this:
0x800CCCA9 IXP_E_NNTP_POST_FAILED Unable to post to server

Messages that are sent are moved to the Sent Items folder
- email messages to the email accoutn Sent Items folder
- newsgroup message to the Sent Items folder in the Storage Folders

They don't remain in the Outbox until deleted by a user (e.g. you) , if so
they are:
- not sent
- corrupted message (not indexed by WLM due to a variety of potential
reasons)

You should not have to delete messages from the Outbox; the client (WLM)
should automatically move them after they are sent.

WLM will synchronize all accounts on its own schedule. If it finds any
message in the Outbox, it will attempt to send it. If it was already sent to
the E-S server, the E-S server will know it is a duplicate, and it will
throw that error.
