Unable to re-install Active Sync

I was unable to sync with IPAQ 5455, kept getting
WCESMgr.exe - Application Error and memory error. Removed
Active Sync 3.7 then tried to reinstall from web site. It
downloads but does not install program. I even tried to
reinstall 3.5 from the CD. Nothing. Now I can't install
Active Sync on my PC.
Any ideas?

Hi,
Are you trying to install it while logged in as the Administrator? Have you
tried manually uninstalling it?

Yes I am logged in as administrator. I uninstalled Active
Sync in "Add and Remove Programs" from Control Panel.
